Appeared in an epic television commercial with my robot arm!
This is how I spend the majority of my time: Hanging out with my mentor Dianne in her awesome workshop.
Gave a speech for IPAA ACT to 280 people at the CEOs and Young Professionals Network Breakfast. It was a delight to find my friends at Questacon had a table! Questacon is the funnest place in Canberra. You go there to learn about science. They also have an outreach exhibition that tours the country. I went to one when I was 11 and took home this beautiful wave drawing that is still on the wall of my childhood bedroom! Definitely check out Questacon!
After my speech, I took a tour of the building where all the exhibits get made with CEO Graham Durant. We had fun with some of the prototypes being made!
Then we put together some modular, 6-piece, 3D-printed glasses. I tried to make mine as colourful as possible.
Make sure you go to Questacon next time you're in Canberra, or attend one of their travelling exhibits and have some fun with science!
It was also great to find out about opportunities at Questacon for outreach positions in teaching and in creating curriculum. I'm excited that our Robogals volunteers who love what we do can make a career out of encouraging kids into science through Questacon and their large-scale, national outreach programs.
Remo Giuffré, Founder and Director of TEDxSydney and Founder of General Thinking, and his lovely daughter Lola (an engineering student at the University of Melbourne, aspiring to major in Mechatronics) visited us at the 2Mar Robotics office!
Forbes named me a world's top 50 woman in tech & 30 Under 30. I founded Robogals and Aipoly and was Young Australian of the Year 2012. Currently working on robotics company Aubot. I'm the youngest Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and I give speeches around the world.
